The Future of Construction: Exclusive insights into PERI’s innovations at bauma 2025

bauma, the world’s largest trade fair for construction machinery and building materials, is just around the corner. Guided by the motto "We are shaping the future with you", we’ll showcase innovative solutions, spark new ideas, and collaborate closely with our clients and partners to shape the future of construction. But what makes PERI’s presence at bauma 2025 so special? Our reporters, Lisa and Chiara, spoke to the right people and received some exclusive insights. They've spoken to the faces behind the scenes and asked our PERI employees about their personal highlights.

"Welcome to PERI" – First impressions matter

One of the first things visitors encounter in the PERI exhibition hall is the reception area. Here, Regina Ehret and Madeleine Decker are part of the team ensuring that everyone feels welcome from the moment they arrive.

Lisa: "Regina and Madeleine, you're the first faces visitors see at the PERI stand at bauma. What does that mean to you?"
Regina: "It’s always such a special feeling! Bauma isn’t just a trade fair for us – it’s an experience. This is my fourth time here, but the excitement of the visitors still energises me every time."
Madeleine: "Our goal is for everyone who steps into our hall to feel immediately at home. The PERI Spirit is all about openness, warmth, and enthusiasm – and we want that to be felt as soon as someone enters."
Chiara: "What makes the atmosphere at PERI during bauma so special?"
Regina: "It’s the sense of community. You meet colleagues, clients, and partners from all over the world – some you’ve known for years, and also new faces."

Products that shape the future

Lukas Grotz is project manager for the products and exhibits and played a key role in selecting the right solutions for bauma. But that’s not all – as a true organisational talent, he also ensures that these solutions arrive at the exhibition hall on time. His passion lies in innovative systems that increase efficiency, drive digitalisation, and make sustainable construction possible.

Lisa: "Lukas, what can visitors expect this year?"
Lukas: "The key focus areas for bauma this year are digitalisation and sustainability – and these are exactly the areas where we have a lot to showcase at PERI. Especially in the digital realm, we think through the entire customer process. Our solutions are aligned with the stages of 'plan, build, manage' – making it easier for our customers to find the right product or system for their specific challenges."
Chiara: "Can you give us an example of digital solutions visitors can expect at bauma?"
Lukas: "Of course! Our sensor technology from Vemaventuri and the trackers from SYFIT help our customers manage their construction sites more intelligently. With these tools, they can, for example, better control the flow of materials, optimise maintenance cycles, and monitor construction progress in real-time."
Lisa: "Another major topic is infrastructure. Are there any new innovations in this area at bauma?"
Lukas: "Yes! Our new system for steel composite bridges (VCT). With this system, bridges can be built more quickly, easily, and flexibly, without compromising on quality. It’s a real milestone for the infrastructure sector."
Chiara: "Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important topic in the construction industry. What is PERI doing in this area?"
Lukas: "We’re increasingly focusing on resource-efficient materials and creating more transparency regarding CO₂ emissions. Our goal is to combine sustainable construction with economic efficiency – because both must go hand in hand."

The Marketplace: Live demonstrations and breakthrough moments

Another exciting stop at the event is the Marketplace. Alexandra Pfister, a civil engineer at PERI, will be hosting live demonstrations, offering visitors an up-close look at the products.

Chiara: "Alexandra, what can visitors expect at the Marketplace?"
Alexandra: "Focused on the regional SME sector and residential construction, we will be showcasing valuable systems and solutions, designed to inspire our customers and provide them with competitive advantages in the market. Through live demonstrations of a residential construction site, we’ll show how efficiently foundations, walls, ceilings, and facades can be constructed. One of the highlights will be: We’ll demonstrate, step by step, how our systems and digital solutions optimise daily work. Visitors will be able to follow every detail on our large LED screen."
Chiara: "Is there anything special visitors can look forward to during the demonstrations?"
Alexandra: "I think many visitors will be fascinated by the compatibility and versatile application of our products. When we develop new systems, it's always with the aim of making them highly adaptable. A simple example is our DUO system, which allows the formwork of walls, ceilings, or beams using the same components. Or our scaffolding system – it consists of modular parts that can be flexibly combined depending on the requirements, for example, as reinforcement or facade scaffolding. This means customers can solve different challenges on-site using the same components. I’m sure when our visitors see this in one of the live demos, the famous ‘light bulb effect’ won’t be far behind – and I’m really looking forward to that!"

The PERI Spirit: A trade fair that unites

Lisa: "Regina, Madeleine – you experience bauma up close every time. What makes it so special for you?"
Regina: "To put it in perspective: It almost feels like living in a shared house for a week. You work very closely together, meet new people, and grow as a team."
Madeleine: "And above all, it's the energy that's present – that’s what makes bauma one of the most exciting events of the year for me."
Chiara: "Lukas, Alexandra – what do you think will be your personal goosebump moment at the fair?"
Lukas: "I think it will be when the doors open on the first day and the hall is filled with life. That's when you know: It's really happening!"
Alexandra: "When a visitor comes up to me after a demo and says: 'Now I get it, this is exactly the solution I need!' – those are the best moments for me."

"A PERI Inspiration" – What does that mean to you?

Lisa: "The communication campaign for bauma is called 'A PERI Inspiration.' What does inspiration mean to you, personally?"

Regina: "For me, inspiration definitely comes through exchanging ideas with others."
Madeleine: "For me, it’s when I see how the PERI spirit at the exhibition excites people. The energy from that experience has a long-lasting effect."

Lukas: "'Let your visions fly high for high-flying expertise' fits my role perfectly. bauma is the place where we bring big ideas to life and show what’s possible with innovative solutions. For me, 'fly high' also means keeping the bigger picture in mind, spotting trends, and turning visions into tangible, practical solutions for our customers."

Alexandra: "For me, it’s less about the inspiration itself, and more about how it can be created: always looking to the future, thinking solutions-driven, and constantly evolving – in everything we do."

By the end of these interviews, it’s clear: Once you’ve experienced the PERI spirit, you know that bauma 2025 is about more than just products – it’s about a shared vision: "We are shaping the future with you." We invite you to experience the future of construction with us.
